To people who have found us from Dibbers amazing video Welcome.

Monday was incredibly full of win.

Our WomWorld Nokia Loan Device (n97Mini) arrived at 9AM and since then i've been playing with it.

I'm amazed at how heavy it feels in the hand in comparison to my E71 and 5230XM

Shock horror even jess likes the phone, even though she thinks me and touch screen devices are a dangerous pairing.

Unboxing Video will follow, as it's taking an age to upload. *Uploaded and embedded*

Phones 4u also phoned me after i posted the following image on our twitter page

They asked for details to and called me back. and now we have a device on the way to offer up in the fundraiser. I am so so full of happiness as a result of all these lovely companies and groups who have offered us help.

Now on to setting up sports tracker and endomondo up on the n97mini.

Expect a new post tonight after training. (with bike cam if it attaches properly)

Paul

Never train when ill. Always brings out the worst of you.

What a week.

Jess falls ill, then i do the same. but the kids don't. what the hell is that all about?
I personally think it's my body's way of torturing me. but meh!

Well roll on Friday and I'm ready to try and get out an train some more. (read: get off your lazy behind it'll make you feel better!) 20 yards outside and the chain snaps on the bike. Although not a major issue, but put a dead stop on training as i had to check for other breakages on the chain.
2 more links cracked and replaced so were ready to go.... Tomorrow. New cassette and chain to be ordered too (Note to myself as there both on there last legs. )

Roll on Saturday and we try again. and the success rate is greater than i thought.
*back has been playing up quite badly over the last few weeks, causing a slowdown on my training. and mileage I've done. I hope the painkillers will keep this down today to a minimum as i plan to go out tonight with some new toys (read next post)*

The main purpose for today's ride was hill riding. I decided to do the off road hill climbs as the gravel/sandy pathways at Dunstable and Grassy routes at Whipsnade seem to do slow you down . which is annoying but at the same time a good thing so you have to work harder. which helps when on the asphalt.

without further or do Saturdays ride data.

Speed 33M.P.H. Not bad i suppose. when other routes have hit 40M.P.H. +

Now where to go tonight. Usual route or somewhere way out. possibly towards berko.

Now then onto the next entry!

Ride safe out there :)

Small Updates for you all

I have finally gained access into my website panel, and as such we have a domain (albeit random)

http://www.imwellconfused.me.uk

This may not be the best idea in the world but from here we can link easier.

Rider update.

From my point of view everyone has been busy training. Even if I still need to improve and do more miles, but at least i'm on track with finding the cause of my back damage now.

I'll also be posting our Endomondo training sessions up the day they happen. way it's going i hope to be ready to bust 20+ miles by next friday

I also invested in some new toys for the riders today, PMR Radios. OK, not as glam as you think, but good for when some of us will lag behind (knowing my luck it will be me if i don't pick the pace up) or when something goes wrong. (as a primary means of comms over cellphones, as a lot of them will be used for tracking and such)

Now for what i ask of you lovely people
IS there any local companies or organisations you know of who could help us. We have WomWorld Nokia, the amazing Declan at the White Swan Inn. and now need more help.

Please get in touch by comment or look for me on facebook (Paul Gaywood Hooker)

Thanks
Paul and the Balls Of Steel Team

A little update

Thanks for peeping over to see us.

It's been a quiet few weeks, mainly with planning, training and asking companies for much needed support.

True there have been hic-ups along the way. but were on a steady pace.

In the last few days i decided to ask the Phone giant Nokia if they could help us in any way possible. Now i won't admit I never thought nokia or any affiliates would get in touch with me.

BUT...................

Then i recieved a private message via Facebook from Thomas at WOMWorldNokia offering us some assistance. This we have gratefully accepted.

I can't say too much yet, but this will make the entire Balls Of Steel Event a whole lot better.

Team updates
due to injury we have lost one rider. and another may have dropped out. but there'll be plenty of us to make a huge pace especially with the team in general smashing previous targets.
(my personal recortd shamshing with Vicky below via Endomondo)

One more thing to let you know.

Vlogs and other additions will be coming soon with many thanks to the amazing Debz. she has said she wouls be our extrodinary blogger.

More updates tonight (alissa has learnt to climb the sofa)

Updates - We have set a date!

Between discussing the finer points on the event we have worked out together the dates for Balls Of Steel 2010 to run,

On the 11th of September 2010 we ride through some of the most challenging asphalt known to cyclists.
The evenings partying will be done on a seperate date this year so we can all be there to party with you, and make sure everyone has a great time.

We also have a total of 6 riders too. with many thanks to Vicky for this.
(once we all meet and have the final number of riders we will photo and blog a bit about ourselves.

More will be posted soon

Ride and play safe :)
